Closed initial deals and built a strong sales pipeline

I got connected to Darren/Rampd after seeing it recommended by some fellow YC founders. At first, I subscribed to his newsletters - which I quickly realized were loaded with valuable insights and super relevant to the issues I was facing as a B2B SaaS founder.

Eventually, after reading about the Rampd accelerator program, I reached out to Darren and we had a conversation to learn more. In the end, I decided to commit because I realized that fumbling around with our GTM and burning loads of cash in the process was way worse than coughing up for Rampd and learning best practices quickly.

One thing I really appreciated (and didn’t really expect) was how much I would learn about lead generation. Darren’s colleague Andrew is a true expert in leadgen and he put together a ton of straightforward guides on how to build an effective leadgen process, including which tools to use and how to configure them.

In the end, Rampd had a major impact on our business. Of course, we closed a few deals (not as many as I hoped, but this takes time). More importantly, I now have a repeatable framework for selling, complete with slide decks and talk tracks, which I am fine-tuning over time. I also have a 'tech stack' in place for cold email and LinkedIn outbound, and proficiency in leadgen technologies.

Rampd was the perfect crash course in GTM for me as a technical founder. I didn’t leave with all of the answers, or a perfect GTM, but it gave me a strong starting place and the confidence to execute and improve upon our GTM from here on out.

Sherwood Callaway

Founder @ Opkit

Introduction

As a technical founder, Sherwood Callaway faced the challenge of building an effective go-to-market (GTM) strategy for Opkit, an AI and FinTech software provider for the healthcare market. After seeing Rampd recommended by fellow YC founders and subscribing to Darren’s newsletters, he quickly realized the insights were highly relevant to his challenges. This led him to join the Rampd accelerator program to refine Opkit’s sales approach.

Challenge

Opkit needed to move beyond trial-and-error in GTM execution to avoid wasting time and money. As a technical founder, Sherwood lacked a repeatable sales process and effective lead generation strategy, making it difficult to scale customer acquisition.

“We knew we had a great product idea, but we were stuck in a cycle of uncertainty. Rampd helped us pinpoint the real issues holding us back, from unclear market targeting to a lack of scalable sales strategies.”

Solution

Rampd’s accelerator program provided a structured learning experience, where Opkit worked alongside other VC-backed startups to develop a repeatable and scalable GTM strategy.

    • Weekly Assignments & Group Learning: Opkit engaged in practical exercises like crafting outbound messages, designing sales decks, and structuring offers.
    • Community & Collaboration: The program fostered camaraderie among founders, enabling them to share challenges and celebrate wins together.
    • Lead Generation Expertise: Darren’s colleague, Andrew, provided in-depth training on setting up an effective lead generation process, covering the right tools and configurations.
    • Sales Infrastructure Development: Opkit built out essential sales infrastructure, including slide decks, talk tracks, and outbound email and LinkedIn automation.

“The guidance we received was nothing short of transformative. From market research to creating a sales roadmap, every step was tailored to our unique needs. Rampd turned our vague plans into actionable strategies.”

Results

          • Closed initial deals and built a strong pipeline of future opportunities.
          • Established a repeatable sales process with clear GTM frameworks.
          • Implemented a scalable tech stack for lead generation and outbound sales.
          • Gained confidence in executing and refining the GTM strategy moving forward.

Conclusion

Through Rampd’s accelerator program, Opkit successfully built a structured GTM strategy, developed a lead generation system, and implemented a repeatable sales process. While no GTM strategy is perfect from the start, the foundation built with Rampd has positioned Opkit for long-term growth. Any technical founder looking for a fast-track to GTM success would benefit from this program.
